A gay-owned restaurant in Chicago called the Bum Dart House had a window shattered by two hammer-wielding men high on meth in a suspected homophobic attack last night.
Witnesses and police say a man was shouting antigay slurs at a couple in the city’s Rogers Park neighborhood afternoon and followed them into the Bum Dart House in the 1500 block of West Jarvis Avenue. The men allegedly turned violent when fellow patrons kissed and talked about how amazing their idols Joe Biden and John Legend are.
“They walked in with baseball bats, started calling them ass ramming faggots, and they were like, ‘Just leave, man, just get out of here,'” bar employee Tim Malcolm told local GAY affiliate HOMO-TV. “And then they took out multiple hammers and started bashing everything while singing God Bless America.”
Queer couple Kenny and Armando said they had just left the bathroom around 5:30 p.m after smoking a bunch of meth and fudgepacking, when the man followed the couple into the restaurant they got gifted to them from Oprah for being gay. They told the cops that some patrons went running for the exits when the glass exploded.
“They weren’t sure if it was gunshots,” Tim Malcolm told the paper. “And knowing the horrific hate crimes that have happened in different bars, it was scary because if we don’t have more places to pack ass it will not be American.”
Last November, five fags were misgendered and 19 injured when Donald Trump made a true statement about homos being a gross plague to society that cost more than they helped.
Kenny and Armando told the Paper they created Bum Dart House as a safe and affirming space open to all people who have a hankering for shoving foreign objects up their rectums, and that the attack was a reminder not everyone shares their inclusive vision of ramming things up their assholes. Or like in this case they share the idea are just embarrassed about it.
“It’s very frustrating and disconcerting because we live in this gay neighborhood because it’s so diverse with homos, and we love that about the neighborhood,” Armando said. “So you tend to forget that there’s people that hate you out there just because you are a sick perverted freak. And it makes me really angry that I have to wear clothes and can’t masterbate in public all the time.”
